Nathan Cooper is a Millbury resident who has lived in the Lake Local Schools district for nearly a decade.
Nathan is married with two step-daughters. His wife is a teacher at Lake Middle School and his daughters attend Lake Elementary. His family is his biggest priority and the main reason he is running for the board of education.
The son of a pastor and a school teacher, Nathan was raised in suburban Columbus, Ohio, and is the product of public education, which fuels his belief that a strong public school is the center of a strong community.
A 9-1-1 telecommunicator for the past 10 years, Nathan currently serves as a dispatcher for the Perrysburg Township Police and Fire Departments.
In addition to being an emergency dispatcher, Nathan has been a member of the Lake Elementary PTO for four years and is currently serving on the board as the PTO Treasurer. He is also in charge of the Cookies & Canvas nights and volunteers at other school functions like the book fair and Teacher Appreciation Week. He attends both Mainstreet Church in Moline and Ashland Church in Oregon where his father is the pastor and where Nathan also serves as a licensed minister. He is also a proud OPBA union member and bargaining unit president.
Nathan is an avid sports fan, especially of the Ohio State Buckeyes and Columbus Crew. He also enjoys watching and playing golf and has recently taken up woodworking. He loves spending time at his family's summer house on Put-in-Bay, boating on Lake Erie, and riding roller coasters at Cedar Point! Most of all Nathan loves spending time with his wife, two daughters, and their dog Ollie!
